What is the Read-In?
A nationwide event bringing people of all ethnicities together in communities across the country to read and celebrate the works of African-American writers. It’s informal, fun, eduational and always accompanied by good food and freebies!

How do you participate?
Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to read 3-5 minute excerpts from their favorite work by an African-American writer. Works can include poetry, adult literature or children’s books. Please bring your excerpt with you when you come to the Read-In and prepare a 30-second introduction to your selected work. Don’t have a favorite work? We’ll provide an excerpt for you at the check-in desk. You can also consult some selected books from the EKU Libraries [Word] .

How do you register?
Please register online or call Leah Banks at 622-1797. Walk-in readers are welcome the day of the event!

Come and go as your schedule permits!
