Student Non-University Borrowers
Guidelines
Students in the 8th grade or above, who are children of EKU employees; or EKU Model School students, 8th grade and above may borrow materials from the EKU Libraries.
  1. The parent/legal guardian of the student must sign a permission slip, in which the parent/legal guardian acknowledges responsibility for any charges incurred by the student at EKU Libraries.
  2. If the student incurs charges sufficient to block his/her borrowing privileges, the parent/legal guardian's privileges will also be blocked until the matter is resolved.
This non-university borrower's card will allow you to have the same check-out privileges as an undergraduate student. Books will have a loan period of two weeks, with no limit on the number of books. If you need the books longer, they can be renewed in person, or by phone ((859)-622-1790, or online in eQuest (the library catalog) at http://equest.eku.edu.
  • Click on the YOUR LIBRARY ACCOUNT button and enter the barcode from your borrower's card and your last name.
  • Click the LOGIN button
  • Click in the RENEW box by each item you want to renew
  • Click the RENEW ITEMS button and note the new due dates.
Please be aware that some departments of EKU Libraries may have restrictions on individual items or collections which may limit their use.

Return books to the Circulation Desk or the outside book drop, located to the right of the front entrance to the main library.

Enjoy the library's no fine policy, but remember - you will receive a bill for replacement costs if books are not returned.

Remember to bring your Non-University Borrower's Card with you each time you come to the Libraries. Your use of the libraries, and your ability to borrow items may be severely restricted without it.

Should your Non-University Borrower's card become lost or stolen, it is important that you notify the EKU Libraries as quickly as possible. If your card is used without your knowledge, you still will be held responsible for items, borrowed, lost or damaged.

If you have any questions with your library account, or the services offered through the EKU Libraries - please call (859) 622-1790 for more information.
